Switching the MMI on
and off
The MMI switches on and off automatically with
the ignition. It can a lso be switched o n or off
manually .
- Switching on man ually: Press the On/Off knob

button or one of the buttons used to open a

When the system is switched on, the last menu
that was selected is displayed and the last audio
source that was se lected beg ins playing.
- Switching off manually : Press and ho ld the
On/Off knob @ until the MMI switches off. If
t he MMI has been sw itched off manually, it
does
not switch o n aga in automat ically the
next t ime the ignition is switched on .
The MMI can still be operated for approximately
ten min utes after switching the ignition off. If
you do not press any buttons or the cont rol knob
on the MMI control panel within th is time, the
MMI sw itches off automatically .
@ Tips
The MMI sw itches off automatically when the
eng ine is not runn ing and t he re is a low bat-
t ery cha rge .
Adjusting the volume
The volume of an audio source or a system mes-
sage (for example, from the voice recognition
system) can be adjusted directly while the sound
is playing using the On/Off knob .
- In creasing or decreasing the volume : Turn the
On/Off knob @

- Muting or pausing: Press the On/Off kno b

Volumes that are too high or too low are a uto-
matically adj usted to a set leve l when the
MMI is switched on.
Operating
You can easily access functions in the MMI using
an intuitive and standardized operating process .

Accessing functions in a corner of the display
