High-voltage
system
Charging
mode
When
immediate
charging
mode
is
selected,
the
charging
process
will
start
immediately
after
the
charging
connector
has
been
plugged
in
and
the
charging
station
has
been
activated,
if
required.
When
timer
charging
mode
is
selected,
the
charging
process
will
either
start
later
based
on
the
timer
that
has
already
been
set
and
activated

it
will
start
at
a
preferred
charg-
ing
time

Charging
target
Introduction
The
charging
target
indicates
the
predetermined
maximum
charge
level
to
which
the
high-voltage
battery
will
charge.
The
charging
target
can
be
set
manually
or
automatically
via
the
battery
pro-
tection
function.
Audi
recommends
adjusting
the
charging
target.
based
on
the
usage
pattern.
For daily
usage,
Audi
recommends
setting
the
charging
target
at
80%.
This
can
help
to
ensure
the
optimal
the
service
life
of
the
high-voltage
battery.
For
long
trips,
Audi
recommends
setting
the
charging
target
to
100%
to
achieve
the
highest
possible
range.
When
the
high-voltage
battery
has
been
charged
to
100%,
begin
driving
as
soon
as
possible.
You
have
the
option
to
use the
timer
charging
mode.
Activating
the
battery
protection
function
The battery
protection
function
can
prevent
un-
wanted
battery
charge
levels
above
80%
by
auto-
matically
setting
the
charging
target
to
80%.

activate
the
battery
protection
function,
se-
lect
on
the
home
screen:
Vehicle
>
Charging
>
>
Battery
protection
function.
Applies
to:
immediate
charging
mode:
If
the
bat-
tery
protection
function
is
active
and you
manual-
ly
set
a
charging
target
below
80%,
then
the
set
charging
target
will
be
stored
for
the
long
term.
If
the
battery
protection
function
is
active
and
you
manually
set
a
charging
target
above
80%,

the
set
charging
target
will
be
used
only
once. After
charging
successfully,
the
charging
target
set
by
the
battery
protection
function
will
be
activated
again.

will
remain
active
at
an
address
for
which
you
defined
advanced
charging
settings

Setting
a
charging
target
manually
The
charging
target
can
be
set when
the
battery
protection
function
is
active
or
inactive.
If
the
battery
protection
function
is
active,
a
manually
set
charging
target
above
80%
will
only
be
used
once
for
the
next
charging
process.
If
the
battery
protection
function
is
inactive,
then
the
set
charging
target
will
be
used
for
every
charging
process.

right
section
of
the
battery
charge
level
display.

Set the
desired
charging
target.
If
the
battery
protection
function
is
inactive,
the
manually
set
charging
target
will
be
stored
and
used
at
all
locations
where
you
have
not
defined
specific
charging
settings.
When
setting
the
charging
target,
if
the
vehicle
is
located
at
an
ad-
dress
for
which
you
have
already
defined
ad-
vanced
charging
settings,
then
the
charging
tar-
get
will
be
changed
to
match
the
advanced
charging
settings
®
page

Advanced
charg-
ing
settings.
If
you
set
the
charging
target
lower
than
the
current battery
charge
level
while
charging,
then
the
charging
process
will
be
canceled.
If
you
set
the
charging
target
above
the
current
battery
charge
level
again,
then
the
charging
process
will
resume.
This
does
not
apply
if
you
are
charging
at
a
charging
station,
where
you
have
authenticated
yourself
manually.
