Automatic Differential
Brake
The system regulates the drive force by auto‐
matically braking individual wheels.
The function works in the same way as a differ‐
ential lock and improves traction on a loose sur‐
face, for example. The system detects when a
wheel begins to spin and automatically brakes
this wheel.
The drive force is diverted to the wheel with bet‐
ter traction.
In so doing, the driving power is transmitted to
the wheels more efficiently on acceleration.
Hill Descent Control HDC
Principle
Hill Descent Control HDC provides hill descent
assistance which regulates the speed on steep
inclines, for example when driving off-road.
When the system is active, the vehicle moves at
a speed set by the driver without the brake pedal
having to be pressed.
While HDC regulates the speed, the system dis‐
tributes the braking force automatically to the in‐
dividual wheels. Driving stability and steerability
are improved. If required, the anti-lock braking
system ABS prevents the wheels from locking.
General
HDC can be activated below approx. 40 km/h,
25 mph.
Speeds between approx. 3 km/h, 2 mph and ap‐
prox. 30 km/h, 20 mph can be set. On hill de‐
scents, the system reduces the speed to the set
value, within the physical limits.

Press the button. The LED on the button
illuminates.
Speeds between approx. 3 km/h, 2 mph and ap‐
prox. 30 km/h, 20 mph are adopted as the de‐
sired speed.
