IGNITION
Radio-operated key
The indicator light for the radio-oper-
ated key flashes as long as the radio-
operated key is being searched for.
If the radio-operated key or the spare key is
detected, it goes out.
If the radio-operated key or the spare key is
not detected, it lights up briefly.
You are provided with one radio-operated
key and one spare key. If you lose your keys,
refer to the information regarding the elec-
tronic immobilizer (EWS) ( 46).
If the range of the radio-operated key
is exceeded, the vehicle cannot be
started.
If the radio-operated key continues to be
missing, the ignition will be switched off af-
ter approx. 1.5 minutes to protect the bat-
tery charge.
It is advisable to carry the radio-operated
key directly on your person (e.g. in a jacket
pocket) and to also carry the spare key as an
alternative.

Locking the steering lock
Requirement
Handlebars are turned to the left. Radio-op-
erated key is within reception area.
Press and hold button 1.
Steering lock audibly locks.
Ignition, lights and all electrical circuits
turned off.
Unlocking the steering lock
Requirement
The steering lock is locked. Radio-operated
key is within reception area.
Press button 1.
The steering lock unlocks audibly.
Turning on the ignition
Requirement
Radio-operated key is within reception area.
There are two ways to activate the igni-
tion.
Version 1:
Briefly press button 1.
Parking lights and all function circuits are
turned on.
Pre-Ride-Check is carried out. ( 106)
ABS self-diagnosis is performed. ( 106)
ASC self-diagnosis in progress. ( 107)
