The idling speed could bec ome unstable with the
throttle valve stuck closed, if the adjustment screw
is turned excessively.
•
Depress and release the throttle pedal a few times
to make sure that the idle speed does not change.
Readjust if necessary.
•
Install the panel cover, and tighten its bolts to
specified torque.
Tightening Torque
Panel Cover Bolts:
4.4N·m(0.45kgf·m,39in·lb)
High Altitude Use
The original carburetor settings of this vehicle are
best for sea level use. When the vehicle is used
at high altitude, the thinner atmosphere makes the
air/fuel mixture richer reducing performance and in-
creasing fuel usage. Have the carburetor adjusted
by your authorized Kawasaki dealer if you intend to
use this vehicle a b ove 640 m (2 100 feet).
However the carburetor must be returned to orig-
inal settings before using at lower altitudes. Other-
wise lean high-altitude carburetor setting may cause
rough engine idling, stalling, or engine damage.
