NOTICE
Brake fluid quickly damages painted sur-
faces. Wipe up any spilled fluid immediately.
Fluid Level Inspection
•
With the vehicle on level ground, check through
the ins pection hol
e in the dashboard, that the fluid
level in the reservoir is between the upper (marked
MAX) and lower (marked MIN) lev el line s.

If the fluid level is lower than the lower level line,
check f or fluid leaks in the brake lines.
•
Open the fro
nt cargo compartment cover (see
“Front Cargo Compartment” section in the “GEN-
ERAL INFORMATION” chapter) and remove the
caponthec
ompartment wall.

•
Using a suitable funnel, fill the rese r voir to the up-
per level line.
WARNING
Mixing two types and brands of fluid for use
in the brake lowers the brake fluid boiling
point and coul
d reduce brake effectiveness.
Change the fluid in the brake system com-
pletely if the fluid level is low but the type and
brand of the fl
uid already in the reservoir are
unknown.
•
Apply the brake forcefully for a few seconds and
check for fl
uid leakage around the fittings.
