Manual Description
The standard spark plug is shown in the table. The spark plugs should be taken out in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart for cleaning, inspection, and resetting of the plug gap. If the plug is oily or has carbon built up on it, have it cleaned, preferably in a sand-blasting device, and then clean off any abrasive particles. The plug may also be cleaned using a high flash-point solvent and a wire brush or other suitable tool.
Measure the gap with a wire-type thickness gauge, and adjust the gap if incorrect by bending the outer electrode. If the spark plug electrodes are corroded or damaged, or if the insulator is cracked, replace the plug. Use the standard plug.
