Maintenance A prerequisite for fault-free operation and avoiding premature wear is compliance with the maintenance, care and adjustments to the engine and chassis described in the service manual. Using the motorcycle in extreme conditions such as racing can lead to above-average wear to components such as the power train or brakes. It may therefore be necessary to service or replace worn parts before the wear limit shown in the service schedule is reached.
