To determine if a battery has been sulphated”, note its voltage and current when charging it. Read hydrometer and thermometer indications at eye level. F Keep the battery away from open flame while it is being charged.
Never turn on the charger first, as this may cause a spark. The charging amps K indicated above refer to initial charge rate. If its condition is questionable, use circuit tester or test lamp.
The temperature (and resistance) of the thermistor element varies with current flow. When the temperature reaches a specified level, the electrical resistance will rise sharply to control the circuit current. Reduced current flow will cause the element to cool.
