Manual Description
Use nylon cloths or paper towels to clean the parts; common shop rags can leave lint that might interfere with their operation. Petroleum jelly may be applied to O-rings and seals. Avoid damaging O-rings, seals and gaskets during installation.
Check fluid level referring to the scale on the reservoir tank. Make sure fluid temperature in reservoir tank rises to 60 to 80°C (140 to 176°F). Hold steering wheel at each lock position for five seconds and carefully check for fluid leakage.
If fluid leakage at any line is noticed, loosen flare nut and then retighten. Do not overtighten flare nut as this can damage O-ring, washer and threads. If fluid leakage from power steering pump is noticed, check power steering pump.
