Manual Description
Normally, the capacity of the valve is sufficient to handle any blow-by and a small amount of ventilating air. On vehicles with an excessively high blow-by, the valve does not meet the requirement. Each control unit transmits/receives data but selectively reads required data only.
Disconnect fuel tube joint between fuel damper and injector tube and set fuel pressure check adapter (J44321). After properly inserting fuel injectors, check to make sure that fuel tube protrusions are engaged with those of fuel injectors, and that flanges of fuel tubes are engaged with clips. Tighten fuel tube assembly mounting nuts in numerical sequence (indicated in the figure at left) and in two stages.
Check service records for any recent repairs that may indicate a related malfunction, or a current need for scheduled maintenance. Start engine and warm it up until engine coolant temperature indicator points the middle of gauge. Rev engine (2,000 to 3,000 rpm) two or three times under no-load, then run engine at idle speed for about 1 minute.
