It must operate smoothly and spring back to the idle position fully when released. The seat belts must move smoothly when pulled out and retract on its own when released. The latch plate should click securely into the buckle and release when the release button is pushed firmly.

The shift lever should move smoothly both forward and backwards and return to its original position after a gear change is made. Check the shift lever and transmission for roughness before starting off. Check tire pressure regularly to make sure it is at the recommended specifications.

Dust or dirt in the gauge could cause the first reading to be incorrect. The transmission is properly lubricated only when the engine is running. Press the accelerator pedal gradually and release the clutch pedal slowly.
