This message is also displayed during manual activation without a trailer connected. Pressing the vehicle brake pedal also illuminates both trailer and vehicle brake lamps. Hook up the trailer and make the electrical connections according to the trailer manufacturer's instructions.
Turn the steering wheel to the right to move the trailer's rear end to the right. Reconnect the wiring to the trailer after the trailer is removed from the water. Replace the rear axle lubricant any time the axle has been submerged in water.
Rear axle lubricant quantities are not to be checked or changed unless a leak is suspected or repair required. An example of recreational towing would be towing your vehicle behind a motor home. Off— shuts off the engine and all accessories/locks the steering wheel and allows key removal.
