Manual Description
Raise the handle upright until you feel it latch and see the lever in the lock position. Always keep the bed extender in the grocery mode or the stowed position with the tailgate closed. Make sure to engage both sides of the locking pins into their holes in the pick-up box.
Additional information regarding proper trailer loading and setting your vehicle up for towing is located in another chapter of this manual. Selecting a trailer with a low aerodynamic drag and rounded front design helps optimize performance and fuel economy. Start with the gross combined weight rating for your vehicle model and axle ratio.
Remember to account for the trailer tongue weight as part of your vehicle load when calculating the total vehicle weight. Use the side view mirrors and rear view mirror to get better coverage on both sides and rear of your vehicle. Check that the trailer is level or slightly nose down toward your vehicle.
