Manual Description
Check for proper steering head bearing adjustment and lubricate bearings using SPECIAL PURPOSE GREASE at proper intervals. Refer to Regular Service Intervals: 2014 VRod Models. With motorcycle front end raised off the floor, be sure front fork turns freely without any binding or interference and that there is no appreciable front to rear fork movement indicating excessive bearing looseness. Steering head bearings should be adjusted according to service manual procedure, if necessary.
Front brakes: Stand the motorcycle upright (not leaning on the jiffy stand) on a level surface. Turn handlebar so the top of the brake master cylinder is level. See Front Brake Fluid Sight Glass and Rear Brake Reservoir Gauge. Compare the fluid level in the reservoir sight glass to the lowlevel mark (1).
Rear: Stand the motorcycle upright (not leaning on the jiffy stand) on a level surface. Compare the fluid level in the reservoir sight glass to the low level mark (2).
