Manual Description
Pushing the engine start/stop button while the smart key is in the vehicle may result in unintended engine activation and/or unintended vehicle movement. But for your safety always depress the brake pedal before starting the engine. Unexpected and sudden vehicle movement can occur if these precautions are not followed.
This position locks the transmission and prevents the drive wheels from rotating. The vehicle will roll freely even on the slightest incline unless the parking brake or service brakes are applied. Insert a screwdriver into the access hole and press down on the screwdriver.
Pump the brake pedal only when necessary to maintain steering control on slippery surfaces. This will create abnormally high brake temperatures which can cause excessive brake lining and pad wear. Continuous brake application will cause the brakes to overheat and could result in a temporary loss of braking performance.
