The service information included in this manual and the tools provided in the owner's tool kit are intended to assist you in the performance of preventive maintenance and minor repairs. The middle and final gear cases must be checked for grease leakage before each ride. The air filter element should be cleaned at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart.
The carburetor is an important part of the engine and requires very sophisticated adjustment. Safety in all conditions of riding depends on a relatively small area of contact. Old and aged tires shall be checked by tire specialists to ascertain their suitability for further use.
Operating the motorcycle with excessively worn tires decreases riding stability and can lead to loss of control. The front and rear brake lever free play should be measured at the positions as shown. The pivoting points of the front and rear brake levers must be lubricated at the intervals specified in the periodic maintenance and lubrication chart.
